With a commitment to high-quality patient care, Mel J. Colón, DPM, is a go-to practitioner for all conditions that affect the feet, ankles, and lower legs. Dr. Colón cares for patients at International Medical Clinics (IMC), located in Atlanta.
After completing his undergraduate studies in New York City at Long Island University in Brooklyn, Dr. Colón was accepted into graduate school. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia.
Dr. Colón went through hospital residency training at the former Lawndale Community Hospital in Philadelphia, where he gained extensive experience in surgery of the foot, ankle, and leg. He’s currently board certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
While he has special interests in bunions, plantar fasciitis, foot and ankle deformities, and heel pain, to name a few, Dr. Colón diagnoses and treats a wide variety of common to complex ailments.
Throughout his career, Dr. Colón has been a trusted provider in the field of podiatry. He’s spent more than 35 years lecturing on advancements in foot and ankle surgeries and has provided expert commentary for several newspaper, magazine, radio, and television interviews.
When he’s not caring for patients in the clinic, Dr. Colón donates his time to various organizations in his community. He was a member of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is currently Chairman of the Healthcare division for the World Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Colón has also served as the president of the Kiwanis Club of East Cobb in Georgia.
